Our LPS Workshop offers an ideal starting point for PCTs to begin a structured planning process that is inclusive of existing community pharmacy contractors, potential providers and other stakeholders.

The workshop is a combination of presentations and hands-on exercises, which takes participants through the process of preparing an outline proposal for an LPS Pilot. Webstar Health undertakes preparatory research to illustrate the priorities of the local health economy and demonstrate the importance of developing and implementing integrated services that meet the needs of the locality.

Webstar Health works closely with the PCT to ensure that the workshop is part of a wider coherent programme. The workshop is often one element of the support that we offer.

Webstar Health developed a bespoke workshop programme for Camden and Islington PCTs in order to kick start their LPS activity.

The one day workshop was attended by over 30 pharmacists and PCT employees.We developed a programme that included local Public Health speakers, sessions giving an overview of the PCT and its priorities and, of course, in depth information on LPS. This was supported by practical exercises where participants worked to develop outline proposals using case studies.

The workshop helped the PCT and prospective providers to better understand LPS and to provide a sound base from which to develop their local plan for action.
